Boulder Community

University Hill neighborhood from above.

Recognizing that the university has a large impact on the greater Boulder community, Student Conduct & Conflict Resolution (SCCR) strives to be impactful partners by educating the community on what we do and supporting positive neighbor-to-student relationships.

Student Conduct in the Community

The Student Code of Conduct outlines the policies and values that make us Buffs on and off campus. The goal is to help students:

  • Understand the impact of their behavior.
  • Repair harm and make positive choices in the future.
  • Contribute positively to the CU Boulder community and beyond.

Annual Conduct Statistics

While we cannot share details of individual conduct cases, we are committed to being transparent about the student conduct process as a whole. This summary outlines:

  • The types and number of violations that were referred to SCCR involving students' off-campus conduct.
  • The low frequency of repeat offenses.
  • CU Boulder's response to the violations.

Conflict Resolution

Healthy conflict can result in growth, learning and understanding. Conflict resolution is not just for student-to-student relationships. SCCR conflict support can:

  • Mediate neighbor-to-neighbor interactions.
  • Help residents and students develop positive relationships.
  • Encourage the Boulder community and students to have respectful dialogue with one another.

Support our students

Restorative Justice

Participate in Restorative Justice volunteer opportunities. Restorative Justice helps to address the relationship between victims, offenders and the community in a way that repairs the impact, holds the offender accountable and builds community.

If you experienced an incident where a student was violating Boulder ordinances, report the situation to the University of Colorado Police Department (CUPD) if it occured on campus or the Boulder Police Department if it occured off campus. The student may be referred to SCCR if they are suspected of violating the Student Code of Conduct.

   Report an incident to CUPD.
Report an incident to Boulder Police.

We also encourage Boulder residents to partner with Off-Campus Housing & Neighborhood Relations to help the relationships between neighbors and students thrive.
